Second time using Southbury Tree Service and could not be more pleased and impressed with this company! From start to finish the owner and crew were friendly and professional. Ben not only previewed the tree of concerns, he looked around the property to ensure there were no other trees posing threats to my property. Watching the synchronized way these guys work was incredible. We had several trees removed one of which was over 5 feet across at the base and hanging over our driveway so it was time to come down. This crew carefully positioned their equipment around our sidewalk and basketball hoop then got to work. It was evident these guys were experts. The day they came was a windy one and although I watched nervously, I knew safety was high priority for them. When they left, there was not even a small twig left on the lawn. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for any tree work need.

For the past few years, I have watched a cherished ancient maple tree decline. A friend recently recommended Southbury Tree Service to do an assessment of it, saying that the Neal family is known to care deeply about saving old trees. Dave Neal came out to look at it, and although I was heartbroken when he said it had to come down, I knew it was the truth. He also looked at several other trees on my property, recommending various treatments which he took the time to describe in detail. These included pruning, installing bracing rods and injecting Cambistat to help them survive drought and stress. Dave brought his crew, his Spider Lift and his crane, and set to work, which was absolutely fascinating to watch. The men are cheerful, professional and efficient, and I am more than happy to give them five gold stars! It is worth every penny! I lost one treasure but know that Dave and his crew have greatly improved the lives of the others. Thanks, Dave!

I called Southbury Tree Service to have several large trees removed because they were dead.Arborist Dave is very knowledgeable and more then willing to answer questions. He walked our property and pointed out several trees that were also diseased, dying, or had decaying trunks that could potentially become hazardous in the future. I decided to have all identified trees removed as most of them were behind our house and not easy to get to.It took almost a week, but they did a great job at removing all the trees and cleaning up all the debris. I am writing to recommend my professional experience working with Southbury Tree Service, especially their Arborist, Dave Neal. Garden design is my work and I use trees in my designs, but 2 years ago I did my first all tree design planting 33 trees. Some of the trees started having trouble and a landscape professional friend, Kelly Lenahan, suggested I call Dave Neal, a tree expert she greatly respects of Southbury Tree Service. Dave's help was invaluable; one look at the trees and he knew what was wrong and how to save them. Thanks to Dave we saved at least 12 trees. Dave could not have been more generous with his knowledge. It was a pleasure to work and learn from him.But just this week Dave and Southbury Tree Service helped us again -- this time by removing a series of impossibly high tree branches in a very small space. Some of the branches were 45 feet high. I had no idea how they could be removed. Speaking to Dave about this problem he suggested it could be done with a machine called a 'Spider Lift". This state of the art machine is extremely agile, narrow and light but can reach an incredible 93 feet. It was a pleasure to watch some of the highly skilled work Dave and a crew member Jeremy did for us. I hired this company for tree removal from storm Isais. A tree had fallen against the house. Honestly I would give them 6 stars if I could. They were on time for the work , professional and the price they quoted me was more than reasonable. In addition they removed debris from the storm from the entire front yard not just around where the tree had fallen. When they were done the front lawn looked fantastic.
